University Advancement and Student Affairs encourages students to attain their full potential by providing a broad range of activities, services, and learning opportunities. 

The planning and administration of a program of services and activities for students which is compatible with the philosophy and objectives of the University is the primary purpose of the Division of University Advancement and Student Affairs.

The University believes its responsibilities to the students include more than academic training in the classroom and the laboratory. It must assist the students in the development of their total personalities in a way which will prepare them for a full and satisfying life while attending college and in the succeeding years.

As state funding dwindles, it is also a primary responsibility of the Vice President to establish and provide financial assistance for programs to allow them to grow in ways that basic funding cannot accomplish. The University Advancement program is based on establishing methods of advancing the educational purposes of the university through scholarships, purchase of property or construction, student recruiting, and other fund raising opportunities.
