Up close: James has improved immensely during his first year of racing bicycles. He started off as a recreational rider with several Hotter 'N Hell rides. During James' first year of collegiate racing, he finished second in Category C at the Texas State Road Race outside of San Marcos and third in Cat. Cs at the SCCCC championships near Nacogdoches. James also was 16th in the Cat. 4 road race at Hotter 'N Hell in 2007.  James will move up to Category B for the Spring 2008 road season and, with his consistent work during the summer and fall, he should prove to be one of the top riders on that squad.

Prior to coming to MSU, James played basketball at Tarleton State University in Stephenville TX.

Random Sampler: James enjoys hunting and fishing.  His favorite breed of dog is the German Shepherd.  One of his arms is longer than the other and he is addicted to the $10 free dollar night at the casino.
