Dear Family and Friends,

Thank you for your support and continued confidence in Midwestern State University. It is our pleasure to invite you to this year’s annual Family Day program scheduled for Saturday, September 29, 2013. Family Day is a tradition when parents, family members, and friends join their MSU student(s) for a relaxing day of fun and college memories. This year’s program will feature a variety of activities and events both on campus and at Memorial Stadium before the 7 p.m. MSU football game against Incarnate Word.

Festivities will include a variety of games, novelties, and entertainment for the entire family to enjoy. The on-campus events will take place from noon-4 p.m., while activities at Memorial Stadium will take place between 5-7 p.m. in the west parking lot of Memorial Stadium.

Attendance at all Family Day events is free for family members and guests of current MSU students, with the exception of the Family Day Brunch. You must RSVP by Thursday, September 20, 2013 in order to receive complimentary tickets to any NCAA athletic events! Tickets for those who RSVP will be available on Saturday at the Family Day check-in tables.

Test Title Change

Come enjoy a light continental brunch with Maverick the Mustang. Friends and families are invited to join Maverick and members of the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management for brunch.

Disney's Brave
10:00a.m. - 12:00p.m. ---- Location: Shawnee Theater, Clark Student Center

Merida is a skilled archer and impetuous daughter of King Fergus and Queen Elinor. Determined to carve her own path in life, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin, surly Lord Macintosh and cantankerous Lord Dingwall. Merida's actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric Witch for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish. The ensuing peril forces Merida to harness all of her skills and resources - including her clever and mischievous triplet brothers - to undo a beastly curse before it's too late, discovering the meaning of true bravery.

Check-In
The check-in table for Family Day participants will be located in "The Quad." Families will have the opportunity to purchase "Mustangs" gear, get more information regarding the schedule of events, and pick-up free tickets for the MSU Volleyball and Football games on Saturday.

Free tickets are only guaranteed for those families who register for Family Day by 9/20/12.

Games, Inflatables, and Novelties
An assortment of novelties and entertainment will be available for children of all ages, and even the young at heart. The entertainment will include a mechanical bull, 75' obstacle course, bounce house, rock wall, and much more.


Did You Say Free Food?!
The Kiowa Kooks, an organization comprised of MSU alumni, are determined to give back to the University one meal at a time. The Kooks will be providing a free hot dog lunch to all Family Day participants. Be sure to show up early for their fresh homemade fries!!!

Live Music
What could be better than games, inflatables, and free food? We know, live music! The Paul Cannon Music Band of Dallas, Texas will perform covers and current 100 hits. They will also take request, so come with your selection prepared.
Spirit Booth w/ the MSU Cheerleaders

The nationally-ranked MSU Cheerleaders will preparing the Mustangs and their guests for the big game at Memorial Stadium. The cheerleaders will be helping children and MSU fans make spirit signs as well as teach our families the traditional chants for a Mustangs' event. Get a picture for your scrapbook and maybe some free prizes!

Ice Cream Sundae Parent Reception with MSU Faculty
Parents and guests are encouraged to meet the brightest minds on the planet. Our esteemed faculty will be on campus enjoying Family Day with ice cream and relaxation. Feel free to stop by and learn more about our faculty and our beautiful campus.

2 - 4:00p.m. ---- Location: D. L. Ligon Coliseum, MSU

MSU Mustangs vs. Texas Women's University
Free tickets for the volleyball game will be provided at the Family Day check-in table for those families who registered for Family Day.

2 - 5:30p.m. ---- Location: Akin Auditorium, Hardin North

MSU Tailgate Extravaganza!
This year’s tailgating events will include various inflatables and novelties, free food, the MSU Cheerleaders, and live music.
In addition, there will be a tailgating competition! Select prizes will be provided for design of tailgate, best barbeque, best dessert, and best overall tailgate!
